Andre Miller, 47, was arrested after being stopped about 12:15 p.m., Friday, Dec. 29, by a deputy after receiving a "hit" from a license plate reader indicating that the vehicle had a suspended registration to an insurance lapse, said Undersheriff Eric Chaboty.
During a search of the vehicle, Miller was found to be in possession of an unlicensed handgun and was charged with felony weapon possession, and other traffic violations, Chaboty said.
Miller is being held at the Sullivan County Jail on $25,000 bail.
The Monticello Police Department assisted Deputies at the scene with this arrest.
